Thundey Activities during the withdrawal Phase of monsoon over the country
The southwest monsoon had already withdrawn from the northern and central parts of Myanmar during the second dekad of September. It is also now in withdrawing phase from the remaining Deltaic and southern Myanmar. It is the time that thundery activities are most common throughout the country especially over the lower Myanmar areas. The satellite pictures from MTSAT reveals the the free convective clouds are scattering all over the lower Myanmar area.
Locally heavy rainfalls, squally winds and gusty winds, lightning and thunder activities, tornadoes, downburst winds are highly possible in the lower Myanmar region during the withdrawal phase of monsoon. Also in the coming post monsoon period, thge La Nina conditions in the Pacific area may enhance the thunderstorm activities.
Vessels navigating along the inlland waterways and in Myanmar water as well should be cautious about these thunderstorm activities. Air navigation over Shan state and over the Andaman Sea may encounter with several turbulence if careful weather routing service is not taken.
